Antrim Escape Walkthrough

UPDATE: Game Hive released Antrim Escape v2.0 that contains an alternate exit. Read the original walkthrough before you go onto the alternate exit walkthrough.

Finally solved Antrim Escape. I have to say this is one of the best iPhone games I have played so far. And one of the best room escape game. The graphics just kick ass. And some puzzles are very well thought out and make good use of iPhone's hardware features.

I thought I would write a walkthrough for those of you that are stuck. But the amount of satisfaction from trying and trying and then being able to solve it is just undescribable.

I labeled the four walls according to the direction of the compass.
Each wall begins with items that you can pickup right away without solving any puzzle. They are marked "item" under each wall. The other objects are puzzles.

IMPORTANT: many of the codes and numbers you get in the game is different each time!  So the combination to the scrollbox is different for each person and different each time you RESET the game (in the welcome screen).

North Wall

1. Balcony Key (item)
2. Candle (item)
3. Pendant (item)
4. Plant
5. Clock
6. Left Drawer
7. Middler Drawer
8. Right Drawer
9. Map

East Wall

1. Silver Faucet Handle (item)
2. Fake Door
3. Painting

South Wall
1. Hammer Handle (item)
2. Cloth (item)
3. Coin inside the car (item)
4. Left Cabinet
5. Middle Cabinet
6. Right Cabinet
7. Drawer Handle
8. Crystal Ball
9. Music Box

West Wall
1. Balcony Door
2. Mirror

Balcony
1. Music Box Missing Piece (item)
2. Sink

Walkthrough

1. Tilt the iPhone upside down and you will see the chandelier on the top. Pretty sweet use of the iPhone’s feature!! Pickup the Yellow Gem.

2. While in the chandelier view, shake the iPhone to make the Red Key drop.

3. Use the Red Key to open the Right Cabinet on the SOUTH WALL and grab the rope inside.

4. Pickup the Balcony Key on the NORTH WALL and open the Balcony Doors on the WEST WALL with it. Also pickup the Candle and Pendant.

5. Pickup the Hammer Handle, Cloth, Coin inside the car and the Drawer Handle on the SOUTH WALL.

6. Pickup the Silver Faucet Handle on the EAST WALL and use it on the faucet head outside in the BALCONY.

7. In the sink, there is another Coin after you drain the dirty water.

8. Fill the sink with fresh water and soak the Cloth into the water.

9. Pickup the Music Box Missing Piece in the BALCONY and apply it back to the Music Box in the SOUTH WALL.

10. Play the tune of the Music Box: 1,3,5,5,2,4,4. You will get a Blue Key inside. (Update: in version 2.0, it is 1,3,5,5,4,3,2)

11. In the SOUTH WALL, use the Blue Key to open the Left Cabinet and pickup the Hammer Head inside.

12. Double tap the Hammer Head in the inventory to bring up the detail view. Then highlight the Hammer Handle and apply it to the Hammer Head.

13. Use the soaked Cloth to clean the Crystal Ball, and then BAM, break it with the hammer. Pickup the Coin and take note of the written time on the paper.

14. Use the time written on the paper to solve the Clock puzzle. A bird will mouth a Golden Key.

15. Use the Drawer Handle found in the SOUTH WALL to open the Right Drawer on the South Wall.

16. Inside is a compass, the code to open it is N.E.W.S. The Red marker is North. Turn to North, hit the button, then East and hit button, then West, and finally South.
(The N.E.W.S. message comes from the foggy Mirror on the WEST WALL by putting the Candle under the mirror – there’s a candle holder under the mirror)
17. Once you opened the compass, there is a paper with numbers written on it. Look carefully. They are numbers to open the Scroll Box.  Do NOT open the scroll and read in between the top&bottom lines and focus on the empty space between the black lines.

18. In the NORTH WALL, use the Golden Key to open the Left Drawer where the Scroll Box is inside. Use the numbers found in step14 to unlock it to get a Green Key and a Screwdriver inside.

19. Use the Green Key to open the Middle Drawer to get another Coin and a Letter Knife that is used to open the Pendant.

20. Use the Screwdriver to unmount the painting on the EAST WALL (click on the screws with the Screwdriver).

21. On the NORTH WALL, tap the vase of the plant a few times to find the two ‘X’ markings.

22. In the brick walls behind the painting, use two fingers at the SAME time to tap on 2 bricks – same ones marked with the ‘X’ on the plant vase. This reveals the coin box.

23. Up to this point, the Candle should have melted. There is a coin hidden inside.

24. With all 5 coins you found, put them into the coin box according to this:
- the years in each coin correspond to one of the books in the SOUTH WALL on the top middle bookshelf.
- once you match the year to the book, then use the book's color to match the position of the marbles in the SOUTH WALL small table. Make note of the position.
- Do this for all 5 coins and insert them into the coin box to reveal a sword.

25. Now we need to find the last gem – the white gem. Have the Pendant opened with the Letter Knife and make note of the Date on the lower right corner of the letter inside. This date corresponds to the (x,y) coordinates on the MAP on the SOUTH WALL. In this case, the "x" is the vertical bars on the map and "y" is the horizontal ones.  Tap the correct coordinates about 10 to 15 times to get the White Gem.  The reason to tap many times on the same spot is to prevent people from RANDOMLY TAPPING on the map. The game requires you to think, not go random. Every puzzle has a clue leading to the next.

26. Insider both gems into the Sword sockets and use the Sword to cut the 2 curtains.

27. Now, in the BALCONY, attach the Rope found in step3 to the handrail. Then attached the 2 curtains. And Voila.

AWESOME Game. Once of the best room escape I have played. Definitely good use of iPhone’s feature.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Smokeybaby72,
For the music box, number the blocks from left to right 1~5. Then it will be 1355244 if you have not updated it and 1355432 if you have updated to version 2.0. And you have to press the circle or side of the music box after entering the sequence.

  19. For the numbers in the compass, they are the outlines of numbers. If you keep the scroll thing half-closed, then you can see the numbers more clearly. They're right side up, by the way.

  48. For the coordinates on the map turn your phone sideways then count your coordinates to the left the count your coordinates up

    ReplyDelete
  49. Meant count to the right and then up sorry

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yellow Gem is at the Chandelier view. You have to tilt your phone upside down to get into Chandelier view and the yellow gem is near the bottom.

The pendent is located on top of the clock. zoom in to see.
The date in the pendent is the coordinates to the white gem hidden in the map. you have to tap the location at least 10times to reveal the gem probably because the developer wants to prevent randomly tapping on the map.

  51. im having trouble with placing the coins in the con box what order do u put them in?

    ReplyDelete
  52. For Map coordinates, reverse the coordinates. think of the numbers as y/x (not x/y). And tap on those coordinates about 5-6 times.

    ReplyDelete
  56. need help with the bricks

    ReplyDelete
  57. for the candle, leave it in the holder on the mirror until it is burned out. the coin is sitting on the top of the metal part of the candle once its burned. for the bricks, just keep trying to hit both at the same time, it will only show that you are hitting one of the bricks, but after a ccouple hits it works

    ReplyDelete
  58. I cant read the numbers in the scroll they look like 4111 but its not working ARGGGGG.

    ReplyDelete
  62. What does the dots on the compass paper mean and how do I read it? I'm having a headache :(

    ReplyDelete
  63. right for those of you with trouble with the coins here we go. In the bookshelf there are 5 books all next to each other with coloured spines and years on them that match the coins. On the small table (where you find the extra knob for the drawer) there are 5 coloured knobs which match the coloured spines on the books.

so for example if the knobs are brown, blue, green, yellow and purple then go to the books and take the years in that order and then place the coins in the holes in the same order

    ReplyDelete
  64. on the scroll you have to read between the dashes to see the numbers. Those dashes are outlines not numbers

    ReplyDelete

  73. cant get bricks ive been sitting here for an hour now trying to get it to work. im starting to pull my hair out

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ok, I figured out the scroll: the numbers are written in bubble type. Just draw an imaginary line above and below this scribbles on the scroll and they'll become more visible. Mine was 4335. Also the bricks in the wall have to be touched at the same time. I just wiggled both fingers and it came open. Good luck!

  76. Irritated by scrollAugust 21, 2010 at 7:53 PM

I can never figure out the "numbers" on the compass... Yellow gem's on one of the chandeliers in the detailed view.

    ReplyDelete
  77. ok everyone calm down for the chandelier question you must turn your device so that the back faces up toward the sky ok. for the map question you must take note of basic math of (x,y), the date in the corner represents the term so replace x with what ever number is in the x spot of the date and the same procedure for the y so you get (figure it out!!!!) then zoom in on the map and lay your device flat with the back of it on the floor and have the game facing normally at you, then rotate the device counter-clockwise, then using the marks on the edges of the map count your way to the location of the white gem. Hope this helps and thank me if this works.

    ReplyDelete
  78. can some one just tell me the prder of the coins in the coin box!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Hi! for the map, I was tapping on the two coordinates, but you have to tap just on one point! The point where yours coordinates meets! (sorry for my engish, i'm belgian).

    ReplyDelete
  116. THIS IS THE ANSWER TO THE COMPASS SCROLL CODE!!!
just ignore the lines and concentrate on the space.
    |.| is 9,

    |.|
    |.| stand for 8. the line is together. and the 4 should be obvious as it looks like a 4

    ReplyDelete
  117. for the anonymous about the map, what do u mean by the point where yours cooridnates meets

    ReplyDelete
  118. This scroll business is stupid, I cant read my numbers at all!

    ReplyDelete
  119. I mean that you don't have to tap on two points, but just on one point. My coordinates were 11/28. It's like you draw a line from each coordinate, and you tap 5-6 times on the point where the two lines cross (cross is better than meet ;) ).

    ReplyDelete
  120. "This scroll business is stupid, I cant read my numbers at all! " => you have to read from far! Then, your numbers appear!

    ReplyDelete
  121. Everyone,
The lines for the scroll are a guide not the actual number, try looking inside the lines and using it to vision he number, like bubble writing.
Each persons code will be different so using other peoples won't work.

Once you Have got all 5 coins go back to the library wall and the centre books have a year number and a colour, jott the dates and their colour down so you don't forget, go to the brick wall and underneath you will notice colour knob like things, write down that colour order and then match the year colour up in line with the order of the knob colours.

    When

    ReplyDelete
  122. Does anyone know the secret ending? I cannot seem to find this :(

    ReplyDelete
  123. does anyone know where the handle is for the drawer? please help me!!

    ReplyDelete
  124. With the scroll in the compass, if you look at it you'll see 8symbols. Look between the first 2 and it should look like a number in bubble writing. Do that between the third and fourth, fifth and sixth, and the last 2. With the map, remember the big lines aren't on every 5.

    ReplyDelete
  144. sorry for all you people who are stuck on the scroll part, you have to look at the spaces, not the lines just the spaces and hopefully you can work out the numbers by yourself. Hope this helps.
    Tom

  145. how are we supposed to figure this out...the connection between certain things are too random, it's ridiculous. The date on the note are the coordinates of the location of the last gem behind the map?? C'MOOOOON.

and the coin thing....the dated books have their color. on the little coffee table under coin box, there's 5 little gems that are the same colors as the books. match the coin with the book...and put them in the order that the gems on the table are in.

  146. Update on the coin box. The colored gems correspond with the dated book colors. Put the coins in the order of the gems.

  148. ok then people who r stuck on this game and cannot beat it, I will help u. :) All u have to do is send me a nice friendly message to antrimescape100@gmail.com about where u r stuck on. and remember I am human so I have my own life so your message may not be answered for a while. Also after a while I may get bored about the game and answering peoples questions so beware if I end up not answering any questions just search on google or post your question on a site that will. Ok? Good now ask away.

  149. That is quite possibly the most pointless post it has been my misfortune to read in my day.....

When you look at it up side down youbwill see like 12 numbers from 1 to 5. Those when you play the numbers at the musicbox the secret exit will appear in the closet under the musicbox!!!!!!! Nice game btw

  157. The coordinates are easy, mine where 12/20. On the left off the map you see 12 littpe stripes. On the top you see ( i think) 30 stripes. So just count 12 down and 20 to the right and you have your coordinates

  164. I haven't started the secret exit yet, but does anyone know what deal with the clock pendulum is? If you rock the iphone back and forth enough times, the clock strikes three times and a message comes up saying that the clock made a weird sound.

  168. Retarded game - mindless clicking all over the place to go anywhere - and I wanted to hit the cat with the hammer.

Speaking of hammer - where did that go? Smashing bricks with a hammer is more realistic than tapping with your fingers on a brick wall.

    Stupid game

I can't believe how many ppl are asking the same questions as those already asked!

  178. About that compass... In a compass, the pointer always points north. What I think confused some ppl is that they turned the compass so that the red mark would be at the N E W S positions, when in fact you should turn it so the pointer points to N E W and finally S on the compass! For example, to get W, the red mark must be to the right, so the pointer, which is always up, will indicate West on the compass. Get it?
I know, I was confused myself.

  179. Alright guys this is pathetic. I mean I needed the walkthrough too, but at least I was able to follow the simple instructions and, when I didn't get something, I FIGURED IT OUT.
Compass: it rotates opposite. North is red. So if the red dash is on the left, east is on top.
Compass number: it's not the lines, but whats between the lines. You might
    have to squint
Map: keep on tapping, you'll get there

  180. SECRET EXIT
Some helpful hints to find the Secret Exit: Go to the cat. Tap its eyes and record with its left or right each time until the cats eyes go up. Now, reverse each “left” and “right” you wrote. Example: if the cat moved its eyes “left, right, right, right, left” re-write the opposite for each so it now reads “right, left, left, left, right”. Go to the wall with the clock. Tap the pendulum. Swing the pendelum hard in the directions you wrote. Make sure it makes the louder “Dong!” noise each time. If you do it right, the last chime will sound different. Go to the face of the clock now and tap the doors where the bird is. It will have another key in it’s mouth. Use it to unlock the other lock on the door next to the clock. Now, tap the door at the end of the hall. You will need to get to this point before the candle burns out so you can read what’s on the door.

    Your number: 4336
Do NOT open the scroll note. you have to read "in between the lines" Focus on the empty space.
